Just An Experience
It slowly backs out,
Preparing cautiously for take off...
slowly, down the runway,
As it becomes more sure, more confident...
the speed rises,
stronger,
faster,
soon it cannot stop.
If it stops now...
there will be critical damage...
...Lift off...
Rough,
bumpy,
scary,
...but it pulls through,
It flies higher,
Above wildest dreams,
it continues at that height,
Through the storms,
the turbulence...
until a light comes on in the cabin.
...fasten your seat belt...
the slow decent,
You see your destination,
you hear the reality,
Announced over the intercom...
you shut the window,
...there is nothing to see here...
You prepare for the landing,
but refuse to watch.
You pretend it is just turbulence,
Just another rough spot..
but then...
You hit rock bottom.
You feel the slowing speed,
Everything stops,
It shuts down...
the doors open.
you are 'free to roam about'...
But the world is nothing...
now that you've seen the stars.
