I Love You
The stars will shine and go blind
Your voice will coo like a dove
The walls will melt to marshmallow
Gluing us to the floor
When you say it.
I will weep pearls and sapphires
Granite statues will glare in jealousy
The feather of a nightingale will float down
To your lap, landing on your knee
When you scream it.
A dainty blue ballerina pirouettes
Your green eyes will dance and sing
The sedated wolf serenades in your soft moon
My chest will heave and soar
When you whisper it in my ear.
Time will melt in heat and freeze in shivering cold
The water lily will bloom in sand
The dust in the old man’s beard will sparkle
Your tears are a truth serum.
When you cry it.
The Grinch will giggle, the trees will swoon
The sky will burst into tremendous flames
Overcome with boisterous joy
Lonely words come together and create new life
When you
say it
scream it
whisper it
cry it
Words alluring and gentle like a sweet poison.
