Permanent Scar
I didn’t want to hear you say
Anything you said to me
A tear fell to the ground
At the mention of your last goodbye
My heart is not gone
But it’s still not whole
There is a permanent scar
That is irreversible
I never wanted this
And you didn’t care enough to know
That I feel real pain
I would miss you when you go
A smile has been absent from my face
But tears are all too common
Nobody understands
They most likely never will
Yet I can’t even seem to grasp the truth
You’re gone, away from me
You’re not coming back, we just don’t belong
