I thought all the butterflies had flown away,
Gone to hibernate,
Back to fly another day.
Then you came around the corner
Your blue eyes flashing, glowing
And they were back
In an instant
Shimmering, fluttering about
I don’t love you
I was never in love with you
I question ever being with you
But you weren’t a mistake
You’re still beautiful
A work of art
So expressive
If only we hadn’t scared each other away
Maybe today would be different
But maybe this way
Tomorrow can be better
Than yesterday could ever hope
