I keep having this dream;
a girl watches my every move
from outside.
She’s not outside in nature;
she’s outside of the world;
outside of life.
I always tried to get a close look to see
just what she was doing.
Recently, I noticed she
is the spitting image of someone I know.
The girl I’m seeing-
the girl watching my happiness,
sadness,
good decisions,
mistakes;
my whole life,
is me.
She is me.
This dream, though,
isn’t a dream at all.
It’s almost nightmarish;
it’s a wakeup call.
I’m not in control of my life.
I’m watching it pass me by.
