Darfur
I hear noises.
Like camels running in the distance.
I run outside and see that I am right.
"They are coming!"I scream,
as loudly as i can manage with my parched throat.
Hundreds of heads turn up to me, and then the opposite way.
As if it had been practiced, they scream as one, seeing the janjaweed too
They start panicking.
They run inside.
Collect the few to none possessions they have.
Bundle up their babies and children.
I run, otherwise i will be burned and killed.
I look back, to the my 18th home and see the elderly and sick
being left to be tortured and then killed.
My life has been this since birth,
when will it change?
