Belonging
Pushing and racing all around
Like a marathon runner
But with no end in sight
So caught up with finding
Where I was meant to be
I ran circles around you
Never stopping to be found
Perhaps I knew you were my home
You were my resting place, my destiny
But I twisted around and away
Till sick, dizzy, exhausted, beat
I fell, only to be caught
The Hands that reached out
Long ago to receive nails
Now move forward to catch me
A loving death, acceptance of pain
You split your heart open for me
So that one day I could fall in
Truly falling in love
You’re blood washed me clean
You’re arms held me close
And I’m where I belong
