Waiting
We’re sititng down
I’m right in front
Staring at the board and I wait
I wait for you to call my name
I wait to look into your eyes and turn around and fall into your world of happiness
I wait for you to say the right words
Instead you don’t
You laugh and smile and joke and play
And I still wait all day
All day for you to want me
Instead you continue to taunt me
Poking and kicking and giggling away
Sometimes I feel like my feelings are more like a joke each day
I tried to spark the flame
But…as usual you thought it was just a game
I’m not sure if you care
Or if your scared to even dare. come up to me with the words I always wanted to hear
I know it wont happen because I can tell how you look at me
And that theres nothing but a friendship
If that’s all I get I guess I’ll take it
Just talking to you makes me feel like one day we’ll just make it
But I guess my heart sometimes makes a fool out of the truth
Maybe one day I’ll crawl into my own little booth
And write a story about how you never knew
That maybe if I just asked you my wishes could’ve come true
