Insomnia

Sluggishly floating through insomnia,
awake because the nightmares of my dreams became too much to bear,
and produced many tears, which would not stay behind closed eyes.
So, I am staring up at the ceiling, until it comes crashing down,
and I'm praying that the night comes with it.
All because the moon is too bright and the night is too cold,
and you are not here to keep me warm,
and distract me from the blinding light.
