"Let the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds ways to kneel and kiss the ground." - Rumi

I was lost in the night
Empty, like forgotten dreams
Restless in the shadow's sight
Wondering what tomorrow brings

Would I lose my last chance
To see the morning glow again
Or with graves would I dance
Delivered from the world of men?

But I awoke in the sky
Rising with the dawn of day
And I watched from on high
The morning sun break shades of gray

I wrote this for a local teenage boy who died in a coma after suffering through a heat stroke at a High School football practice.
