My Cake
I see the cake,
Pink cake and frosting,
Sprinkles, the colors,
In the rainbow.
My fork digs in,
And I hear
The tiny "crunch" of the frosting,
And the smooth silence
While the fork cuts the cake.
A crumb drops
Onto my shirt.
As I pick it up,
I feel
It's sponge-like texture.
As I move the fork closer,
I smell
The strawberry.
Then,
It's in my mouth.
And I taste
Strawberries,
Creamy frosting,
And little, crunchy
Sweet
Sprinkles.
Everyone says,
"No! Exercise!
Be healthy! Cut back!
Low-fat! Low-sugar!
Low-calories! Low-sodium!
Vegetables! Vitamins!
Eat less! Run more!
Try THIS diet and lose
150* pounds in one month**!
One more mile! One less cookie!
Find a slimmer you!"
That doesn't seem as fun.
So I will eat
My cake.
