A day at the grove
The deep roots run into the moist soil and children run between the never ending, intertwining branches that tangle and tease my fragile hair. The sun hits the round, evergreen leaves and the smell of citrus awakens the birds and my senses. Pick-up trucks storm down the dusty old dirt road and the sand flies to my cheeks like bees to honey. I lay in the tall grass that sorounds my body and watch the trees come to life. Swaying from side to side, a glorious ball room dance, in the afternoon, greeting their neighbors with a friendly nudge from the side. The trees and I are friends. Laughing and playing the day away, i love to come and see, My beautiful family full of trees. Waiting in the groves for me.
