Mistake

Seeing your face makes me
want to stomp on my heart
becuase I know you exist
and I tore us apart.

It wasn't that long ago
when I called you my friend.
I made a mistake that
saying sorry can't mend.

Deep down inside,
the pain is so terrible
and the more I miss you,
the more it becomes unbearable.

I know I might sound crazy
to want you back in my life
after a glance at one photograph
and this battle of silent strife.

I learned a lot from you
in the short time we were close,
but it seems as if that knowledge is lost,
just like a body in repose.

Sorry isn't enough and because of that
I wish I could mend this.
I want to create new memories,
but instead I will just reminisce.
