Bold stripes of warpaint
Snake down from the brims of my eyes.
The bleeding trails of inky black
Claim and transform the length of my face
Like a well-worn disguise.

I pretend my pain is noting more than a test
To see if anyone secretly cares.
Will anyone stop and ask what's wrong,
Or will they continue to whisper behind their hands
And look down on me with impudent stares?

I hold my head high
Misunderstood but unashamed
Willing to let the naive and self-righteous
Assume what they will -
For I've already lost whatever there is to be gained.

Ehhh. This is another one of my poems just voicing my frustrations and disappointments with the people in the world around me. It gets better, though, I know. :P

This is really good! You have a unique rhyme scheme, but I like it. My first thought is that this is seductively descriptive :) It's intrigueing. My imagination painted a picture of a girl with her face painted as you described,  gliding down the hall of a highschool almost in slow motion as everyone is turning towards her and giving her ugly looks and whispering about her. But she's above them entirely so it doesn't phase her.  And I agree, I love how you word things, too! :)

i actually like your poems and this is almost breath taking.
