The Darkness

I prefer the darkness.
I’ve had enough with light.
I’ve had enough with daytime.
I want a little night.
I’m done with all the roses.
I’m done with bright blue skies.
I’m done with smiling faces.
I’ve had it with their lies.
For now I’ll sit in shadows.
I’ll stay out of the way.
I’ll dance about in darkness.
I’ll sleep during the day.
I’ll paint my eyes with black.
I’ll throw out all my pink.
I’m going to the dark side,
where people really think.
