I don't really mind
being alone.
It still hurts.
Seeing everyone else
in their gaggles, pairs
and amoebas,
hurts,
rain pours in my heart
for an instant.
The agony is fleeting,
I talk myself out
of the feelings,
the thoughts.
Too many people
have left me,
throwing half-glances
and stinging backward waves.
I must not wallow
in my puddle of tears
long,
I cannot seem to harden
it pains me
worse
every new
colorful,
soul-shattering
parting.

I feel like I can really relate to this poem, being by myself too often in class. I can just tell this by your poetry but you seem like a loner. That's not a bad thing. :)

I love your insights on my writing. And thank you. I don't think it's bad to harden either, it's just so hard to grieve for long so often.

Quite wonderful, Ms. Stargirl! The feelings are sincerely written down (that is a good thing for artists of words). Very beautiful, if saddening. Indeed, I rather think that it's okay to not harden when it comes to emotions...
