forgive me, mother
Mom,
This is you, and this is me.
I face myself while I face you.
While I deal with my pain,
I wish I could yours;
But more than I love my self,
Mom, I’ll always love you.
I didn’t mean the bad things I said-
I hope you love me all the same;
We’ve both been dealt a bad hand.
I’m sorry for my inflictions of pain,
I’ve been selfish,
And now I have learned some things.
I’m sorry I’m not who you expected,
I know myself more, just so you know.
Looking in your teary eyes
I found myself, and I found home.
In my hopeless heart I found my hope.
And thanks to you I found the love
