The Faerie
It's dark,
Only light is the moon and stars,
They guide my spirit to a meadow,
Trees surround it and it draws me in,
The grass is green like emeralds,
It's tall enough for predators to hide,
I walk through it to the center of this enchanted place,
The middle has shorter grass and it's so soft that I sit down,
I look up towards the moon,
It's light holds me close,
I hear noises all around me,
They get closer and closer,
Different voices,
Deep,
High,
And small voices,
I stand up as the mistery voices come to their shapes around me,
They surround me and first fear grabs hold of my heart,
One glides out,
For she has wings and eyes made of glass,
Her skin only but a pale blue,
At first I thought she was death,
Then she took my hand and smiled,
Cool to the touch,
I didnt move,
My heart seemed to slow,
They all came out then,
each one different but all beautiful just the same,
The music started and the smaller ones flew around me,
I began to dance and twirl,
Swaying with there music,
I danced with many and by myself,
It was well into the morning when the first light of day glimmered through the trees,
That's when I realized we'd been dancing all night,
My feet seemed not my own,
And my body completely gone,
The light of day reaches me and touches my face,
I drop to the ground gracfully,
They came to me,
They carried me away into their forest,
I knew what had happened then,
The music was only but a drug,
And now I was to become one of them,
A faerie no less,
That meadow would only be my cage.
