The Fine Mark
There is a fine mark
between the lives of the greater
and the lives of the less.
It is thin and unnoticed,
It runs across the tortures and the pains
across the hopes and the dreams.
It divides the actions and thoughts of the people
the temptations of the lesser
and the messages of the great.
It is not through the gender
nor the class
nor the ethnicity of a character.
It is through the heart
the soul
the morality of a person.
But this line
This division
must be understood as unreal,
merely a figment of this young poet’s mind.
It symbolizes our future,
Our loves,
Our sons and daughters.
I write these words so that you can imagine,
See what I see and consider
Consider a better world.
Life
Is the Fine Mark
