Please Let Me Go
Is all the world so at variance?
Does the chaos not subside?
Will you correct the evident disorder?
What is it you're trying to hide?
My pulse is surely slowing
My thoughts are growing dim
I think I hear the sound of laughter
I think your smile is turning grim
I wish you would not bargain
I wish you would not plead
All the world is left to follow
It is not my place to lead
The visage now is glowing
The heavenly visions that unfold
My willpower fast is fading
As sweet death affirms it's hold
But do not clutch so tightly
It approaches pure and slow
The act would be so selfless
You must learn to let me go
And in that single moment
The world turns upside down
Don your life and go, move onward
As my lips kiss this life's sundown
And in the throes of fury
I watch your mercy die
I shed a tear for my lost lover
This my one, my last, goodbye
