we do something wrong, get caught
and do it again.
that's the epitome of us.
laughing about nothing,
nonstop talking,
and endless afternoons.
the sound of your foot hitting the soccer ball
or mine.
or maybe us screaming:
"it's a long way to richmond,
rollin' up on 95"
along with the music
while the air from the rolled-down windows
blows our hair in fifteen different directions
but we don't care
i'll drive a little faster
and you'll yell a little louder:
"romeo, save me i've been feelin' so alone"
and we'll laugh and talk badly about everyone we know 'cause that's just how we are
you're me, but instead of being born on may 18, you were born in December
it feels like i've known you for ages
i remember your scabbed-up legs, bratz, and our "trading sessions"
we're so different from back then.
but in a way, we're the exact same.
i'm glad we stuck together.
i love you, best friend.
