All in a stare and a smile.
He stares at her with his piercing, jade eyes,
she stares back, with her seductive smile.
He's so infatuated, he doesn't hear what she says,
she's not even bothered to repeat it again.
I stare at him and prepare a similar smile,
but he doesn't look my way, i'm not worth his while.
He really is in love, I can tell by his motions,
She continues to show no sign of true devotion.
I continue to glare, hoping he'll look my way,
but he doesn't ever want to look away.
Her beauty is breathtaking, i'm the first to admit,
but he'll end up hurt if she doesn't commit.
I smile now, just in case he sees,
I smile now, dreaming of his arms 'round me.
He imagines how she'll look in a white dress,
he wonders if she'll cry when she says yes.
I smile more and more, until tears pour down my face,
wishing and wishing that I was in her place.
