"Still In Love"
Every tear is like a bullet
Slamming hard into my hands
Reminding me of how you left -
Of how you wouldn't try to understand.
Every smile now seems forced,
Making the days a repeating trial.
I'm resisting the urge to break apart
Knowing you feel nothing all the while.
My heart is beating still,
Counting the days till you return.
Waiting and hoping and dreading
To see if you have learned.
But hope can't last forever
And waiting was too much to do.
But how can I give up, move on,
When I'm still in love with you?
