The Faceless Name of Color
The simpleness
Of that mislplacen kiss
Can be enough For her.
Her heart starts beating
At a new found pace
As the blood rushes to her face.
The face that remembers
All the good,
All the bad,
It’s all there inside.
The flowers from the corner
The leaf from nowhere
The place it all started
on that sidewalk square.
The fights in the driveway
The arguments over the slide
The frustration that they just couldn’t hide
Those good times,
Along with the bad,
Have their mark,
Their imprint
Inside her now colorless eyes.
What left her that day,
Only they will know.
