"We all can't be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the sides and clap as they go by." "In the end, they're just more words."

As you sit there curled up on the floor,
I see the loneliness caressing you,
I see it beat you till you're sore.

As you walk around the empty room,
I see the loneliness sneering at you,
I see it surround you in a tent of gloom.

As you cry yourself to sleep,
I see the loneliness saunter closer to you,
I see it sink its teeth in deep.

As you look into the empty mirror,
I see the loneliness catch you,
I see it become clearer.

Rid yourself of this monster,
all it's doing is making you darker.
Make it unclench its grip,
before it can raise the whip.
It's changed you, killed you,
banish it and send on it's way,
tell it you never want it back.

In a swirling whirlwind of alone,
gather it and throw it in the hearth.
Please,
Let it burn.
