I walked away,
Leaving her there with a beer in hand,
A boy at her side
Solemn was the sunset that night
The insomnia setting in as the sun tucked away
I know (unwillingly)
The truth of the deepest fiction;
The fact in the false
I left her there
With a stain on her shirt and a crack in her heart,
The air lingered of youth,
Adolescent in the somber time on the October night,
With selfishness the least of my intentions
(unwillingly)
I know the right in the wrong;
the kindness in the most cruel place
I walked away
With last months copy of Vogue in her bag
And a hunger in her eyes
The air was rich, intoxicating young lovers;
The wildest of dreams, the common fears
And responsibilities breaking down in the wind
I left her
With a tear in her eye
And a rebel in her soul
The guilty Hell of life lit a fire in the wicked heart
(unwillingly)
She blindly avoided
I walked away
With an eraser in hand; a past to erase
Glorious was the sunrise that dawn
Unforsaken beauty in the midst of it all
Then her; mascara- smeared eyes
Uncombed majestic hair, no one at her side
I looked away(unwillingly)
Somethings
Can
Never
Be
Erased…
