in the middle of a meadow
in the middle of the ocean
in the middle of the universe
in the middle of everything
there, not far away
a chair just sits
the wind blows
birds sing
branches sway
every creature
sings, sways, and blows
its story
a chair
old and torn
tired and rugged
a chair
the bumps
over the meadow
the creases
over the ocean
the buttons
over the universe
the chair
over everything
it’s a chair
it tells its story
like the wind
birds
branches
every creature
it’s just like them
in the middle of everything
it’ll wait
for its lover
it’ll wait
for that
other chair

The author's comments:
Last week my grandfather past away. He liked sitting in this specail chait at home and when i went over to the house to comfort my grandmother, I looked at that empty chair...it was empty. My grandmother likes sitting in a special one too so when it's time I will write a sequal to this poem...until then.
