Shadows of the Moon
These crumpled faces
Of lives gone sour,
Basking in the glow of the shadow.
Empty façade,
Filled with darkness—
The essence of fear itself.
It is not the objects covering the sun
That obscure your vision.
Rather, it is the shadows
That darken the alleyway—
(The moon can only help so much.)
These joyful faces
Of lives turned around,
Basking in the darkness of the sun.
The empty façade,
Still filled with darkness,
Take on new eyes.
It is not the shadows around you
That hinder your bliss.
Rather, it is merely
Your own.

(The moon can only help so much.)
