"Dream as though you'll live forever, live as though you'll die today."
~James Dean (1931-1955), American Motion Picture Actor, symbol of rebellion

Discreet glance,
A shift of the eye,
Cast sideways.
No one notices
Her innocent gaze.

Cautious look,
Turned over her shoulder
With vigilance.
Not one watching,
She slowly unfastens the bolt.

Gentle push,
Deceitfully made,
Pressed down.
No sign of resistance,
Verdict: to take the opportunity

Amplified creak
Bounds through the hall,
Tattle-tale.
Still, not one without acquiesce,
Gust of storm pours through.

Slinks past,
Door barely open,
Little by little.
Obscurity shrouds everything but her,
She slips into the cold.

Losing her,
She is fading,
Shred, torn
Heart’s pieces tied together,
Gone whispers in my ear.
