I stare at the board,
I'm thinking,
and holding back tears.

Footsteps behind me,
quietly,
I want to dissapear.

"Do you know who I am?"
he whispers,
vaguely familiar.

"What are you here for?"
I answer,
screaming inside.

Wy won't he go away,
forever,
and leave me in the dark?

"I really love you."
he's lying,
I've heard this all before.

"I love you too."
I'm crying,
the tears hot on my cheeks.

"Be with me forever?"
he's asking,
a slight smile on his face.

"Forever isn't real."
I answer,
believing in these words.

He kisses my cheek,
so softly,
continuing his game.

"Then show me what is."
he's smirking,
working play-by-play.

This pain is real,
I'm thinking,
It will not fade away.

"Am I hurting you?"
he whispers,
as if he hears my thoughts.

"I'm perfectly fine."
I'm lying,
like it will change something.

He walks across the room,
he's watching,
waiting for me to fall.

"Donn't forget I love you."
he whispers,
feeding in the lie.

A few silent minutes,
still watching,
letting time pass by.

"Do you know who I am?"
he whispers,
totally familiar.
