I wait for you
Like the flowers wait
For the sun as she dawns on the horizon
And rakes her fiery fingers across the sky.

I wait for you;
Tenderly I sit here,
Religiously examining each of your features,
And wait for you to wake from your slumber.

I wait for you
Like the oceans wait
For the pearly moon to throw her silver leash
Onto the tides and make them rock and sway.

I wait for you;
Each night is growing
Longer and my dreams spill over with desires
That agree upon our upcoming rendezvous.

I wait for you
Like the bare branches wait
For the coming of spring’s cooling breeze
To inspire the blossoms to open their cage.

I wait for you;
The dire need to speak,
The consuming love that I have for you,
Keeps me endlessly waiting only for you.
