Say goodbye
To the little girl you knew
And say goodbye
To the smiling baby doll,

Dust settles
A veil over memories
Vacancy permeates
The air around them

Maybe tomorrow
She’ll be back
And maybe tomorrow
She’ll wake in her crib

And maybe not

As dust settles
Fingerprints are left
The only evidence in their match
She grew up
And said goodbye too

Now, say hello
To this new life
And say hello
To the smile in the mirror
