The Game
We play their game,
In the hope of winning
(As one always does).
There is a fair playing field,
Most of the time.
Sometimes there’s no chance to move.
They push us off the board,
And explain that they
Must always win.
This is fact.
Things must always be this way.
And there is no choice
But to play again.
This time,
We gather up our courage
To fight back.
The minute we do,
They say that we’re cheating.
For: you cannot cheat fact.
That would be absurd!
Truthfully,
We would rather play your game
Than stand up and defend it.
