Childhood Buddies
I miss when we were little,
Things were so simply then,
We would play games of kickball,
That usually ended in quibbling,
Your mom would make bagel bites,
They ended up as ammo in our food fights,
We would hold hands and play house,
You were always a doctor,
I stayed at home with the make believe kids,
Now years later it seems like we never see each other,
Out lives have been separated,
I miss your smile and laugh,
Even though you live across the street,
It feels like miles away.
