Her inchoate mind
A desolate pasture
Of indigent ragweed
And raffia strands
Flowed untamed
Without a despot

She intrigued him
Wanted to make her his
A derivation of himself
So he blandished her mendaciously
Without a modicum of couth
Shielded the veracity
Meticulously

She swooned
Unclenched her grasp on herself
Let him shape her
Closed her eyes
On her fading soul
Thought it was a sweet dream

Daybreak
Only shadows remain
It was a nightmare
