It’s dark and squishy
It’s smelly and wet
I want to get out but I am trapped
You never know what will be thrown in
Orange peels, soda bottles,
Cans with sharp edges
I have to watch my step or I’ll get hurt
Last week’s left-over’s with green mold
The contents of the vacuum make me sneeze
Dog hair, dust and other smelly items
More junk is thrown in each day
Eventually ill find my way out
The can is getting full; in a week ill be free
Junk mail all shredded up like confetti
Coffee grounds; baby dippers
It’s getting hard to breathe.
The top is closer than before
News papers, cereal boxes; a hazard to my health
Just a few more inches and I’ll escape
The junk continues at a feverish pace
Pizza boxes and their remains
I have reached the top and now I am out
