I am from
8-24-23 “I Am From, It being humid from sunrise to sunset.
From fire engines roaring to a small dog barking.
To parades down the street, and being woken up by flashes
Of thunder.
I Am From the long walks to the store that seem close
To the long drive back home after a soccer game.
From being stuck inside from the intense heat.
To drinking hot chocolate from the immense cold.
I Am From The dumpster behind the supermarket
That would stink up the house. To the loud noise in
The afternoon of them taking it out. From power lines
Falling. To cops getting mad for us wanting to get in our house.
I Am From tires rolling down the street. To stop signs getting blown
Away from the wind. To long parades down the street and the sun
So reflecting off the trucks that would make you cover your eyes.
