Oh, you would not believe what has happened since you’ve left!

The well is full, the soil rich, and food abundant!

Cars can fly, animals can talk, and robots govern the nations.

It’s fantastical! World peace, longer lifespans, all is well.

Oh, you would not believe what has happened since you’ve left!

Everyone seems so content. I wish you could see it.

Everyone seems so inspired, creative works spawn out of the most common occurrences.

You ought to come back and see!

You would not believe what has happened since you’ve left.

No pages left to write on, no canvasses left to paint.

No brains left to think.

The well is dry, drought, famine.

The rapid technological developments in recent decades inspired me to make this poem, a poem that tells of a dark and uninspiring future.
