They’ve had an honest days work,
trudging through
crunchy leaves,
canine feces,
and earthworms,
across puddles,
through alleyways,
and into rooms,
their reach
knows no bounds.
Upon reaching the doormat,
the weary travelers
wipe themselves clean
on its prickly surface,
dreading the days ahead.
