Tolerance and courage

You witness a man as greedy as a thief

But he won't be placed in jail

And a woman overflowed with horrible shame

Everyone gone crazy

2 years down the drain

Tolerance and courage

You waited one year and 5 months

For a simple conversation with him

Peter didn’t notice you

Until you made him

Tolerance and courage

You give gifts to everyone

Some you love

Some you hate

But you give them presents anyway

You know the feeling as you got a journal on your 13th birthday

The room feels full again as you watch eyes light up in joy

Tolerance and courage

You boldly stand up for yourself and say what you mean

Despite the filthy words that may slip from others tongues

The insults dig at your skin with sharp finger nails

You accept your words can’t always make your mother proud

But they fall smoothly from your mouth anyway

Tolerance and courage you constantly display

Everyone around you forgets who they are

But not you

You are Anne Frank

Anne Frank is courage and love for the world that many others can not find

1942- 1944  was filled with murder

So you deserve to be noticed by the world

Because you turned that murder into love

I will bear witness by spreading Anne’s story of courage to my family and friends
