At the Dining Room Table

The place where the memories begin
where family time is treasured.
The place meals are shared
and laughs fill the house.
The room off the kitchen
with a dark wooden table
and a big bay window.
My sisters contagious bright smile lingers in my vision
The dogs scratch at my legs, begging for just one bite.
Everyone’s favorite time of the day
Though no one wants to admit it.
