With roses wilted, fashioned granite immobile

How these somber nights have matured countless

Cobalt light streams, peaking through in bullets-

The dusty panes complement the forsaken chamber

A sporadic grasp at satin arouses me from an installment of torment

His mere presence the adversary of requisite sleep

Lifelike visions of him cloud my fatigued mind

To make insomnia swelter in the face of his glacial visits

How I shall cope with my phantom, leaves myself severed

Let the gnawing pain disperse, its onyx tendrils reaching to grasp at any corner?

Watch as I slowly concede myself to drown in mania?

Know he lingers in every shadow, a tracker, a stalker?

My demented mind will forever be property of an invisible tyranny-

Until my weary flesh matches him-

Dull,

Desolate,

Detached,

Diseased

To welcome it, enticing, an alluring derangement-

Succumbing, let myself be entangled with this silky shield of faux comfort

Pirate bliss replenishing mon cœur, a drought since I last felt your warmth

Let it envelop me! Consume me! Sway my conscience with a mere whisper

O Phantom! O dear sweet love of mine!

How could I ever wish to banish you?
