i’ve always preferred the moon to the sun.

the unknowing and overlooked nature that possesses the astronomic body,

and the force it has on the ocean;

yet another mystery not near to be found.

the moon is gentle,

comforting.

individuals anticipate the moon–

the mark of an end to a burdensome day,

the inability to encounter a loved-one,

or a time to rejuvenate for a better sunrise the next.

humans have a natural curiosity with ideas they do not understand,

so they stare to perceive.

people stare at the stars when dawn approaches,

but i stare at you.

even when you are at your “new-moon” phase, 

seemingly absent;

or at your worst,

awaiting for your “full-moon”.

i now know why i favor the moon.

you are my moon.

you are the moon to my ocean,

and you are the moon to my soul.
