Unattainable Desires

I yearn for what I cannot hold,
A longing I cannot control,
A dream that slips through my grasp,
A desire that will never last.
My heart aches for what cannot be,
A wish that's just not meant for me,
A hope that fades with every day,
A love that's destined to stray.
So I'll cherish what I can't attain,
And let my heart be in vain,
Although it's out of sight,
Always shining bright with all its might.
