5 stages of grief
1. Denial
I refuse to let you go,
refuse to let you leave and forget about all we had
and all we could be
because we are still so incredibly in love, right?
2. Anger
How could you?!
How could you expect me to stick around
and listen to your sweet "I love you's"
and the saddened "I miss you's"
When YOU are still, choosing to leave
I'm angry with myself for not seeing this coming
angry that i trusted you not to leave
because you said you never would
3. bargaining
Its okay,
this is nothing but a short period of time
We're inseparable
you're going to come back
Right?
4. Depression
The sadness comes, and is here to stay.
The guilt holds me back from saying anything
holds me back from reaching out
it hits hard.
You're gone, and its all my fault isn't it?
Every waking second of the day,
I wish i had savored ever last moment of the last day we spent together.
I wish i had savored every kiss, every last touch.
5. acceptance
I'm okay with your absence now
I understand why you chose to go
But don't forget me
and what we had
and how our beginning love felt
don't forget a second of me
because ill never forget you.
