Who willingly wants to 

Leave childhood for adolescents?

We tend to see growth as

Bad; ugly; horrible

When it can very well be

Good; beautiful; amazing

Growing up

Isn’t easy.

Especially

In today's world.

As a child, I wanted to grow up

I wanted to be older

Because I was seen as 

Mature; smart; an old soul.

But now?
I cling to my childhood

I’m 

Immature; dumb; and child-like.

I have stuffed animals like

I never had before.

I act silly like

I didn’t do before.

I watch cartoons like

I used to do back then.

I have fun like

I never did before.

I grew up too fast.

I was made to be mature too fast.

I stopped enjoying child-like things too fast.

I took for granted the joys of bliss too fast.

I wanted to be older and wiser too fast.

I just wanted to be what they wanted.

They wanted me mature

They wanted me old

They wanted me smart

They wanted me bold

I wanted to be carefree

I wanted to be young

I wanted to be happy

I wanted to be my own song; my own melody

Now all they have

Are the remnants of

A kid who 

Grew up too fast.
