"You will be found" -Dear Evan Hansen

I think I’m like a sunflower.

Or, at least, I like to think so.

I started off small;

Just like the seed of a sunflower.

Those around me watered me;

Making sure to take good care

They made sure to let

The sun shine on me!

They might’ve thought I’d always stay timid,

But like a sunflower;

As I got older, I sprouted;

I’m still growing, even now.

I was transferred;

From the windowsill to the garden.

I gained confidence

To stand tall, despite it all.

I strive to face the sun;

Trying to see the good in everything.

I am known

For my happiness and strength.

Every time you visit me

In the garden

I’ve grown taller;

Taller than they’ve ever expected.

With petals so lush;

Leaves so full of life

While my past was rough,

That doesn’t stop me.

I make sure to stand tall in the garden,

Becoming a beacon of light for those like me.

I may look like the others,

But I am different.

I am kind

I am strong

I am hardworking

I am ambitious

I am adaptable

I am courageous

I am emphatic

I am amiable

I am passionate

I am reliable

I am sympathetic

I am loving

I am me

Even in the darkest of times,

I remembered this.

Even in fearful times,

I remembered this.

Even when I wanted to give up,

I remembered this.

And I still do;

Because even now

I have hard times.

I have scary times.

I have sad times.

But that’s okay!

We all do.

I just remember

Who I am.

I remember

To stand tall.

I remember

Those that raised me.

And I remember

How far I've come.

I may be like a sunflower,

But one thing is for sure

We both shine our light

That He gave us!

I wrote this poem while thinking about sunflowers. Such a beautiful flower. (I'd be lying if I said I wasn't thinking about my friend, Sunflower, too)
