Would I Say it to Her?

I hate the way I look.
My eyebrows too big
My hips are too small
My smile is too funny
And my legs are too tall.
My eyes are too dull
My hair is too straight
My face is too pointed
And my freckles I hate.

But wait,
Would I say that to her?
Is it really her that I hate?
My smaller self, so pure.
The little me so great

Her eyes they sparkle
Her smile it shines
Her body is perfect
And her face it is mine.
Her hair is gorgeous
Her legs are just right
Her freckles are cute
And her future is bright.

But I hate who I am.
I'm too quiet, don't speak
But then I'm too loud
I'm too scatter brained
And I'm too far from the crowd.
I'll get judged for what I like.
I worry that people care,
I'm anxious all the time
It's so bad I can't go anywhere.

But stop,
Would I say that to her?
Is it really her that I hate?
My smaller self, so pure.
The little me so great.

Her perfect self so outspoken
She's cute when she's shy
She doesn't care what they think
She never wonders why.
She's so confident
She knows what she likes
She loves going out
And she can sleep at night.

Would I really say this to her?
She's perfect just as she is
She loves herself as she comes
She's a smart little kid.
She grew up and got better
She grew up and you see
If I know she's so perfect
Why any less if she's me?
