It is impossible to subject one thing, of such importance, to one meaning. The importance is different from one human to another. No matter where you came from, or where you’re going,

the 13 stripes and 50 stars stand for the utmost significance.

The color red stands for courage, life, and health. It also stands for the men and women who fight for their lives, through rigorous hard work and determination. The same men and women who hope to come home. For the families, praying they don't hear a knock at the door, praying they aren’t handed a folded flag, praying they see their loved one stroll through the door, smiling.

The color blue stands for freedom, inspiration, and imagination. But it also stands for the little girl who came from a poor country, looking for one chance, one opportunity, one piece of hope.  It stands for the people who never had the chance to speak up, stand out, and make a difference.

The color white stands for purity, cleanliness, and simplicity. But it also stands for the eye of hope and new beginnings. For the ones who grew up here, or who are joining the diverse, great group of people who have fought for what they believe.

The 50 stars represents All The Places You’ll Go, everywhere you can be and nowhere you’ll be lost, Oh Say Can You Say, Oh The Thinks You Can Think, All the wrongs and rights you’ll discover, in the bright lights of Las Vegas, in tornado alley of Oklahoma, in the snowy mountains of Colorado, in the Grand Canyons of Arizona, in the land of the red, white, and blue.
