Inside the city is a room.
Inside the city is a room under the stairs
Ten miles grand yet conquered in one bite
Swallowed up by itself, leaving a bitter aftertaste
Everyone screams your name but no one will ask about your day
Deafened by the care of nobody and awoken by the whisper of one
A question mundane enough to smell of an old friend’s house
A question mundane enough to contain a key
A question mundane enough to unlock the door
Inside the room under the stairs is a home for two
